Set phasers to Blu-ray because Star Trek: The Next Generation is finally going to be available in a HD format. But don’t get too excited because we don’t have any idea when full lengthed seasons of the show will arrive on store shelves. What we have heard is that 3 of the most acclaimed episodes will be arriving in a Blu-ray box set that promises it’s “A taste of TNG in high definition.” The three episodes included are the show’s pilot, “Encounter at Farpoint,” season five’s “Inner Light”, and season three’s “Sins of the Father.” No clips have yet been released of these episodes but the trailer for the Blu-ray release does have the best look at the USS Enterprise-D that we’ve ever seen.
