But don’t get too excited because we don’t have any idea when full lengthed seasons of the show will arrive on store shelves. What we have heard is that 3 of the most acclaimed episodes will be arriving in a Blu-ray box set that promises it’s “A taste of TNG in high definition.” The three episodes included are the show’s pilot, “Encounter at Farpoint,” season five’s “Inner Light”, and season three’s “Sins of the Father.” No clips have yet been released of these <span

Take at look at the clip below and watch out for Star Trek: The Next Generation’s The Next Level box set to hit store shelves in 2012.

<iframe

In the trailer little is revealed other than glimpses of Commissioner Gordon in a Hospital bed and Batman fighting in the rain. The one thing that is confirmed in this trailer is that The Dark Knight Rises, the 3rd in a trilogy of Batman movies from director Christopher Nolan, will be the end of the saga. Does this mean Nolan and star Christian Bale will no-longer take part in future Batman films? Probably. Does it mean this will be the last Batman movie ever made? Probably not. Check out the teaser trailer below.

<iframe

This second production diary (Click <a

Fans of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movie trilogy will know that New Zealand played the role of Middle Earth in those films. The same is true in The Hobbit and Jackson promises, “there’s plenty of New Zealand that we haven’t seen yet!” Check the video out below:

Super 8 is the product of writer/director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg; based on the kinds of Super 8 movies Abrams and Spielberg made as children. It is also strong influenced by the films Abrams grew up watching which were either directed, written, or produced by Spielberg. I’ve explained it like this to my friends who’ve not seen it: It’s like The Goonies, ET, and Close Encounters all wrapped up into one.

Joe and his father don’t really get along after the untimely death of Joe’s mother. A few months later Joe has been helping his friend Charles make a Super 8 zombie movie to enter into a film festival. One night a group of Joe and Charles’ friends, including Alice whom Joe has had a crush on, all drive out to the old train station just outside of town to film a much needed dramatic scene. There they witness and are nearly killed by a monstrous train derailment. Something was one that train, and now it’s been let loose in dark of night.

I won’t go any further with the story so as not to spoil it for anyone but I will say that this movie’s strength is derived from the chemistry of the 6 children actors. You definitely believe these kids are all friends who both love and hate each other in equal measure. This is probably one of the best written films I’ve seen all year; almost every dramatic scene is punctuated with moments of brevity in a most delicate fashion. The humor adds to your belief in the characters and never draws and eye-roll.

This is also without a doubt one of the best directed movies I’ve seen this year with each character fully realized on screen and not a moment of film time wasted or plot misunderstood. I rarely find myself walking out of a movie without trying to reverse engineer it so I can fill in the plot holes; even movies I really liked. But with Super 8, I simply smiled and walked out of the theater feeling fulfilled. This film was expertly done.

To put it simply folks, this is unlike any other summer movie you’ll see this year. Our lead doesn’t discover long dormant super powers, there aren’t any super natural pirates to defeat, and the cars don’t transform into anything; they’re just cars. What this movie does have is an extreme ability to make you feel young again. Just like you did when you sat in your footy pajamas in front of a TV screen and for the first time watched a Reese’s Piece get picked up by a completely unfamiliar looking hand.

Yeah, its like that. Do yourself a favor, GO SEE THIS MOVIE!
<div

Abrams re-imagining of Star Trek (like myself) you’ll be excited to hear that Paramount Digital is in the process of developing one hell of a new game based on that version Trek. The game reports to be Co-Op with players taking the roll of either Mr. Spock or Captain James Tiberius Kirk himself. This game is as much an action packed thriller as the Abrams movie was. No boring shifting of starships around a solar system for you, you’re getting a phaser and you get to shoot it at bad guys. In fact if selected scenes from the debut trailer are to be believed it seems this game will be a non-stop adrenaline ride. Take a gander at the trailer and keep your eyes out for the Star Trek video game coming sometime in 2012.

<br

I honestly never thought this day would come. After Bungie Studios broke off from Microsoft Games and left 343 Industries to pick up the mantle of all things Halo, I thought we wouldn’t see any new editions to the Halo Universe. But I was wrong, as the footnote to the Microsoft Conference at this years E3 a teaser trailer was shown for Halo 4.

We pick up with the chief right where we left him, in a cryo-tube awaiting a call to action. And that call comes with a resounding thunder. When the Master Chief awakens he has to grab Cortana and run. Just as he catches himself before he plummets out of the remnants of the In Amber Clad we see a massive world sized structure with an opening aperture sucking in the ship with the Chief and Cortana along for the ride.

Little is known about how Halo 4 will arrive on our doorstep as no developer has been announced. 343 Industries is not itself a developer but rather an umbrella creative team who lead Halo related projects. What is known is that Halo 4 will be the 1st in a new trilogy of halo games and it will be the first true Halo title developed outside of Bungie Studios influence. Halo 4 is slated for a Holiday 2012 release, we’ll keep you posted on the developments. Watch the teaser trailer below.

<object
